Graham and Ginette live in Dubai and what better location to get married in than the Western Cape wine route. They tied the knot at Vrede en Lust wine farm in Franschhoek and it was such a perfect day. Even with the predictions of gale-force winds, the weather turned out to be more than perfect, which isn’t always the case with Western Cape Weddings. Ginette and her girls got ready at the picturesque Babylonstoren and I think she literally took everyone’s breath away with her incredible Kobus Dippenaar dress. Their whole day was really filled with so much happiness and laughter and we absolutely loved capturing their day!
As we are based in Villiersdorp in the Overberg, just 30 minutes from Vrede en Lust wedding venue via the Franschhoek Pass. Sadly, The Franschhoek pass was recently closed due to a rockslide, but we are so terribly excited for it to open again in September 2019. It is one of the most beautiful drives South Africa has to offer. Franschhoek, that directly translates to “French Corner” in Dutch truly lives up to its name every time you have the pleasure to pass through. From quaint coffee shops to international award-winning wine farms it really captures the “joie de vivre” of the South of France. We were lucky enough to capture Jean Syvain & Sara Paris Couple Session in Montmartre, Paris, so there is no doubt that Franschhoek is, indeed, a corner of France.
Having recently worked with Janine Vermeulen from Foraged at the beautiful Lynx Wine Farm, also in Franschhoek. We are also aware of the immense diversity offered by this small village in the Western Cape. Looking at the sneak peek of this beautiful Franschhoekwedding, it is safe to say, that Franshoek doesn’t only capture the best parts of France, but also the best parts of the Overberg, Cape Town or all of the Western Cape has to offer.
